Job Summary

This position provides comprehensive nutrition services to dialysis patients and caregivers in a clinical setting, focusing on maximizing nutritional well-being and supporting patients with end-stage renal disease.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess nutritional status and develop individualized Medical Nutrition Therapy plans, including meal plans and education.
  • Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and caregivers, addressing nutrient requirements, knowledge, and abilities, as well as medical, economic, and social situations.
  • Monitor nutritional status, laboratory values, dialysis adequacy, and adherence to diet and response to nutrition-related medications and therapy.
  • Revise and update nutritional recommendations and care plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with the medical team, nursing staff, and other patient care team members to ensure effective care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, or a related field.
  • Registered Dietitian status with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • State licensure in Maryland or the state where the facility is located.
  • Minimum of two years' professional work experience in clinical nutrition as a Registered Dietitian.
  • Preferred experience working in a dialysis setting.
