Your Contributions
As a key member of the Drug Substance and Active Biological Ingredients (ABI) team, you will collaborate with colleagues to oversee the production processes of various Pfizer products. Your responsibilities will include determining manufacturing techniques, developing procedures, and establishing tooling requirements. You will also design tools and plan production sequences while adhering to principles of continuous improvement, Six Sigma, Lean methodologies, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Your efforts will support Pfizer's commitment to innovation, creativity, and respect for patients, colleagues, and society.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple projects and ongoing departmental activities involving cross-functional teams.
- Provide oversight, coaching, and mentorship to production teams, ensuring compliance with regulations and GMP through effective execution of operations.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing across assets through established processes and systems.
- Identify and implement enhancements to existing processes and products.
- Make autonomous decisions for minor impacts and escalate significant issues as necessary.
- Lead investigations into human performance events during assigned shifts.
- Address complex challenges within your area of expertise and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Encourage diverse perspectives and effective communication among team members to foster alignment.
- Articulate challenges and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and act as a liaison with primary support groups.
- Assist in short-term and long-term planning for operations and maintenance activities.
- Inspire and motivate team members to work collaboratively across functions.
- Form and lead cross-functional teams to execute critical processes within the Drug Substance and ABI Manufacturing group.
Qualifications
Must-Have: High School Diploma (or Equivalent) with 10 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree with 8 years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of experience, or a Master's degree with more than 3 years of experience, or a PhD with no prior experience.
Strong people management capabilities.
In-depth understanding of industry knowledge and business operations, including financial fundamentals and enterprise system usage.
Proficient administrative, managerial, technical report writing, computer, and presentation skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Nice-to-Have: Relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
General knowledge of scientific principles, production equipment, and related procedures.
Familiarity with GMP and regulatory standards.
Ability to cultivate high-performing teams.
Physical/Mental Requirements: Capable of sitting, standing, walking, and bending as required.
Work Environment: The role may involve a non-standard work schedule, including extended hours, holidays, and weekends as necessary. Limited travel may be required for equipment design reviews and acceptance testing.
