Job Title: Milieu Counselor

Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) is seeking a skilled Milieu Counselor to join our team at the Center for Inpatient Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Somerville. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing patient-centered care to children and adolescents with acute behavioral health needs.

Job Summary:

The Milieu Counselor will assist with daily living activities, lead or co-lead groups, perform safety checks, and provide one-on-one support to patients. You will work closely with our registered nurses to ensure a safe and structured environment for our patients. Your attention to detail and ability to accurately chart vital signs will be essential in providing high-quality care.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, laundry, and toileting
  • Lead or co-lead groups to promote socialization and skill-building
  • Perform safety checks to ensure a safe environment for patients
  • Provide one-on-one support to patients, including monitoring vital signs and documenting patient information
  • Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
Requirements:
  • High school diploma required; B.A, B.S., or M.A. preferred or equivalent years of human service experience
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Prior human services, behavioral, or psychiatric experience strongly preferred
  • All newly hired candidates must successfully complete a job-specific physical test
