TITLE: ADMINISTRATOR
POSITION: FULL TIME - VARIED SCHEDULE
PRIMARY ROLE:
Under the guidance of the Senior Vice President of Adult Residential and Day Training, this role is responsible for overseeing the creation, execution, assessment, and provision of all individualized services for designated residences. The aim is to ensure the highest quality of life and independence for individuals within the least restrictive environment at Elmwood Heights/Elmwood East ICF/DD.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain reliable attendance and adapt as necessary to fulfill individual and facility requirements.
- Prepare necessary documentation for facility licensure.
- Supervise the performance of the Director of Nursing, Resident Services Director/QDIP, and Activity Leader, including hiring, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Provide leadership training and support to supervisory staff, ensuring effective orientation and training for Team Leaders and Team Members.
- Collaborate with the Senior Vice President to develop and assess formal Leadership Training Programs, including teaching responsibilities.
- Work collaboratively with other supervisory staff to address common challenges and promote effective problem-solving.
- Oversee self-scheduling of Technicians to ensure adequate staffing while adhering to budgetary constraints.
- Conduct regular inter-departmental meetings to enhance service coordination and teamwork.
- Participate in Habilitation Technician Training and contribute to training format improvements.
- Engage as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team for individual evaluations regarding admissions and discharges.
- Facilitate communication between facility staff and families/guardians, addressing issues as they arise.
- Regularly inspect residences to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
- Ensure compliance with Illinois Department of Public Aid and Health standards, participating in inspections as required.
- Address reports from authorized inspecting agencies and collaborate with professional staff to resolve ongoing issues.
- Attend staffing meetings to review Individual Service Plans, ensuring they meet the needs of individuals.
- Contribute to the Leadership Team, fostering positive problem-solving among staff.
- Represent Milestone in the community, maintaining professional relationships.
- Assist in developing facility policies and procedures to ensure quality services.
- Intervene on behalf of individuals regarding complaints and grievances, ensuring timely resolutions.
- Prepare reports and proposals as requested by the Senior Vice President.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure effective facility operations.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage program funds and individual personal funds responsibly, ensuring proper documentation.
- Serve as Supervisor-on-Duty on a rotating basis, ensuring facility safety.
- Act as Administrator-on-Duty when necessary, maintaining operational efficiency.
- Provide 24-hour availability when serving as Administrator-on-Duty.
- Participate in Quality Assurance Meetings.
- Allocate consultant resources effectively within budget constraints.
- Pursue continuing education opportunities to meet licensure requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least two years of experience in a similar role, including program development.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Approval to operate Milestone vehicles.
- Able to respond to behavioral and health-related crises.
- Capability to respond promptly to emergencies.
- Licensed or eligible for Nursing Home Administrator licensure.
