Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team at Foxworth-Galbraith Lumber Company, Inc. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, responding to customer needs, and driving sales growth in our retail store.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide quality customer service by responding to customer requests, explaining product features, and making sales in our departments.
  • Complete all paperwork for sales, take special orders for customers, and complete new merchandise requests.
  • Sticker merchandise and display according to planograms, display, and signing guidelines.
  • Monitor merchandise movement and advise management of fast/slow-moving SKUs.
  • Monitor inventory, sales practices, and customer behavior to decrease opportunities for breaches of safety and security policies.
  • Accept returned merchandise by verifying documents and merchandise, process refunds, credits, and exchanges according to company procedures.
  • Maintain a clean store environment, including doors, floors, windows, ceilings, restrooms, and workstations.
  • Assist in the preparation of the store and product displays for advertised events and promotions.
  • Participate in the execution of scheduled cycle counts.
  • Attend and participate in all company-sponsored training programs as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, sales, and customer service skills are necessary.
  • Knowledge of building materials products (especially hardlines) is desirable.
  • Ability to operate computer equipment and applicable programs is required.
