Role Summary:

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our healthcare facility complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal guidelines. This position entails managing compliance initiatives, performing audits, and advising personnel on compliance-related issues.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Program Oversight: Design, execute, and oversee compliance initiatives and policies to guarantee adherence to federal, state, and local laws, including HIPAA, OSHA, and other healthcare-related regulations.
  • Audit and Evaluation: Carry out routine audits and evaluations of organizational practices, procedures, and documentation to pinpoint potential compliance challenges and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Training and Development: Create and implement educational programs for staff on compliance subjects, including privacy and security, billing practices, and regulatory obligations.
  • Investigations and Documentation: Examine and address compliance issues, allegations, and incidents. Compile comprehensive reports and documentation regarding findings and corrective measures.
  • Regulatory Engagement: Act as the main liaison for regulatory bodies and ensure timely and precise submission of necessary documentation and reports.
  • Policy Formulation: Formulate and revise policies and procedures to align with changes in regulations and industry standards.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate compliance risks and propose strategies to mitigate potential challenges.
  • Ongoing Improvement: Remain informed about industry trends, regulatory updates, and best practices to continuously enhance the compliance framework.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Law, or a related discipline. A Master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., CHC, CCEP) is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in healthcare compliance, risk management, or a related area. Experience in a leadership role is advantageous.
  • Knowledge: A solid understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices. Proficiency in interpreting and applying federal and state laws.
  • Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities. Capacity to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Certifications: Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or a similar credential is highly desirable.
