Job Summary

As a Compliance Specialist with Cook County Government, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and successful implementation of compliance initiatives and activities. You will serve as a liaison between Bureaus/Departments, addressing issues and assisting with identifying and assessing areas of risk and non-compliance. Your responsibilities will include investigating complaints of non-compliance, performing audits, and working with metrics to prepare statutory reports. You will also respond to inquiries and assist with conducting trainings to increase compliance awareness.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of investigation, audit, compliance, or directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics

Ability to perform moderately complex compliance work independently and collaboratively with consistent and reliable productivity and accuracy. Ability to communicate both verbally and in written formats. Ability to organize various information from different sources and formats. Ability to demonstrate initiative and self-motivation, pay attention to detail, multitask, and prioritize effectively. Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary Work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
