SUMMARY:
The Student Engagement Coordinator plays a vital role in fostering a secure and organized environment within the educational institution and its vicinity. To excel in this position, an individual must effectively manage essential responsibilities. The qualifications outlined below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. REPORTS TO: Assistant Principal for Student Services

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal skills for engaging with students, staff, and visitors.
  • Understanding of general behavior management strategies.
  • Ability to adhere to a schedule while remaining adaptable to various situations.
  • Capacity to maintain composure and follow established protocols during emergencies.
  • Basic record-keeping abilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure security for the building and surrounding area throughout the school day.
  • Implement all school regulations and disciplinary policies as outlined in the student handbook.
  • Oversee students in diverse settings (hallways, cafeteria, etc.) during the school day and after hours as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all student matters.
  • Foster and sustain positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Assist in executing all emergency procedures as assigned.
PHYSICAL ABILITY:
While fulfilling the responsibilities of this role, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear. This employee may occasionally sit or climb. The employee may also need to reach with hands and arms. The employee will occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 100 lbs., such as assisting with a disabled student. The employee may be required to restrain and/or separate students who may exhibit physical aggression.
