Job Title: Senior Technical Editor
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Editor to support the Defense Combating Terrorism Office for an Intelligence agency. The ideal candidate will have experience editing complex, specialized intelligence products, ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance with established style guides.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will:
- Review intelligence products for proper grammar, punctuation, and syntax, as well as for logic, clarity, and consistency.
- Evaluate content to ensure that style and format conform to agency publication standards and that language presentation is consistent with prescribed style guides and specialized vocabulary of subject matter fields.
- Edit technical materials, such as reports of analytic or research findings; scientific or technical articles, news releases, and periodicals; regulations in technical areas; technical manuals, specifications, brochures, and pamphlets; or speeches or scripts on scientific or technical subjects.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree and 17 to 20 years of relevant DoD and/or IC technical editing experience or a master's degree with 12 to 15 years of relevant DoD and/or IC technical editing experience.
- An active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) with Polygraph security clearance.
- Strong knowledge of basic principles and specialized vocabulary of appropriate subject-matter fields.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
