- The selected candidate will be responsible for executing structural repairs on both rotary and fixed-wing aircraft.
- Tasks will include the planning, design, and execution of various types of aviation sheet metal work based on blueprints, models, or other specifications, as well as setting up and operating a range of sheet metal working machinery.
- Utilization of diverse hand tools for cutting, bending, forming, shaping, riveting, and assembling is essential.
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- An FAA Airframe license is preferred.
- Completion of military or vocational training is necessary.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in aircraft structural systems maintenance is required.
- Experience in corrosion control practices, including removal and treatment, is essential.
- Preference will be given to those with a background in 68G/15G MOS or equivalent service branch roles.
- Demonstrated knowledge of military technical manuals is required.
- U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
To successfully perform this role, the individual must be capable of executing each essential duty satisfactorily. The following requirements represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities needed. - Ability to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods.
- Capability to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, and work at heights using fall protection devices.
- Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, utilize finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee, and reach above/below shoulders.
- May need to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances.
- Ability to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
- Must be able to detect imperfections, micrometer readings, and other small scales.
- Effective communication by voice and the ability to detect sound by ear is required.
- Must be able to distinguish colors and judge three-dimensional depth.
- May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklifts, APU, etc.
- Work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including proximity to machinery, objects, vehicles, ladders, and scaffolds.
- Exposure to excessive noise and vibration, which may be intermittent or constant.
- Environmental conditions may include dust, silica, asbestos, fumes, smoke, gas, solvents such as degreasing agents, grease, oils, and electrical energy.
- Work on slippery or uneven surfaces.
- Ability to work closely with others or independently.
- May require protracted or irregular hours as needed.
