Job Overview

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with other program supervisors to guarantee the implementation of best practice treatment services.
  • Deliver timely and precise supervision reports in accordance with agency and licensing standards.
  • Ensure compliance with treatment standards as outlined in contracts or special grants and agency protocols regarding service timeliness, quantity, duration, and paperwork completion.
  • Administer direct trauma-focused treatment tailored to the client's specific needs through individual, family, or group therapy.
  • Advocate for clients and provide assistance as necessary.
  • Conduct comprehensive psychotherapy and other therapeutic services, including psychosocial assessments, clinical evaluations, treatment plan development, progress notes, crisis plans, and discharge planning.
  • Adhere to agency protocols, legal requirements, and professional standards.
  • Maintain thorough entries in clients' electronic health records.
  • Ensure case records are kept in accordance with agency protocols and contract stipulations.
  • Refer clients to additional resources when appropriate.
  • Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities.

WORK HOURS AND FLEXIBILITY

This role typically involves weekday hours; however, there may be occasional evening or weekend events requiring attendance to effectively represent the agency. Some flexibility in scheduling is available, provided that agency needs are met.

COMMUNICATION AND COLLABORATION

  • Engage in respectful and ongoing communication and problem-solving with colleagues.
  • Act as a positive and professional representative for the Agency both internally and within the broader community.
  • Collaborate and consult with other staff members, participating in supervision regarding therapeutic practices and case presentations.
  • Coordinate with external agencies and services as necessary to support the client's therapy and treatment planning.
  • Establish and nurture positive therapeutic relationships with clients.
  • Deliver high-quality service across diverse situations.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards.
  • Effectively engage with and provide services to challenging and/or ambivalent individuals and families.

PROBLEM SOLVING AND JUDGMENT

  • Demonstrate excellent analytical skills to identify trends.
  • Follow established procedures while exercising creativity and initiative.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure a work environment that is safe, friendly, and free from harassment or bullying.
  • Handle all aspects of the business, including both standard and non-standard situations.

SUPERVISION OF STAFF

  • Directly oversee clinicians and interns.
  • Provide high-quality clinical supervision to associate licensed supervisees to meet board requirements for independent licensure.
  • Establish performance standards and monitor outcomes.
  • Document any potential concerns regarding performance, discrimination, or harassment.
  • Implement performance improvement plans and/or corrective actions when necessary.
  • Conduct timely evaluations of subordinates as part of the annual performance review process, providing written assessments based on established goals and responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in behavioral health.
  • Licensed in the State of Arizona at an independent level, in good standing with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (AzBBHE).
  • Approved Clinical Supervisor status through the AzBBHE, maintaining compliance with all Board requirements.
  • Ability to obtain Fingerprint Clearance and pass a background check if required.
  • Working knowledge of community resources.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, proactive mentality, responsiveness, and strong work ethic.
