About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join International Paper as a Regional Process Optimization Engineer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving process improvements and increasing throughput across our regional facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to increase productivity and efficiency
  • Analyze facility performance using key metrics such as Corrugator MSF/hour, Converting MSF/hour, maintenance budget, and electrical & mechanical downtime
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize process improvement opportunities
  • Lead and facilitate troubleshooting efforts to resolve chronic reliability issues
  • Develop and implement solutions to improve maintenance budgets and reduce downtime
  • Provide expertise and support for capital projects, including spare parts identification, purchase & inventory management
  • Coordinate and review vendor equipment, installation and other discipline drawings for operability and maintainability input
  • Assist in checkout and start-up activities, conduct post completion audits of all capital projects
  • Provide support for budgeting cycle targeted at delivering year over year savings
Requirements
  • BS/BA in Engineering; preferred Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial
  • 3+ Years of manufacturing experience
  • Experience in a heavy industrial environment in operations and/or maintenance
  • Corrugated packaging manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
