The Role

VEIR Corp is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our growing team and play a pivotal role in our financial success. This position offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of the energy industry, build robust financial systems, and directly impact the company's trajectory. This position offers the opportunity to build, develop, and manage the corporate accounting function from the ground up at a company at the forefront of energy innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop strong working relationships across the organization and quickly build trust and credibility with VEIR Corp leadership and other critical internal stakeholders, including Commercial and Engineering
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in compliance with GAAP standards
  • In collaboration with the CFO, Finance Manager and other team leaders, scope and implement inaugural company ERP system
  • Drive auditor selection process and audit preparations
Short-Term Objectives
  • Prepare internal processes and coordinate the annual audit process with external auditors
  • Collaborate with tax advisors to ensure compliance with all tax laws
  • Support the Finance Manager and CFO in clearly communicating financial performance and trends to C-Suite and Board of Directors
Long-Term Objectives
  • Develop and implement internal controls process and risk management strategies
  • In collaboration with the CFO, lead the Treasury function and capital investment initiatives
  • Collaborate with the commercial and engineering teams to ensure troubleshoot and build scalable processes
  • Provide strategic support to key business initiatives and investment
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Requirements
  • You have at least 8+ years of finance and accounting experience, with increasing levels of leadership and responsibility; experience in the energy sector or hardware/manufacturing industry a plus
  • You have at least a bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
  • Your previous roles demonstrate extensive knowledge of GAAP principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements
  • You have a proven track record of developing and implementing internal controls and process improvements in a startup environment
  • You operate with a high level of integrity, discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail
  • You have strong analytical and logical skills, and you are adept at interpreting complex financial data to inform strategic decisions
  • You have excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills across all levels of staff and with external stakeholders
  • Highly motivated, energetic, mature, and detail-oriented with a positive approach to problem solving
