Medical Assistant: Part-Time/Per Diem

Job Summary:

As a Medical Assistant at Rimrock, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic supervision and medical services to patients. Your duties will include assisting providers with patient care, performing various clerical functions, and ensuring adherence to state statutes, CARF standards, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet patients, collect necessary medical information, and enter it into the computer system.
Take patients' height, weight, and blood pressure upon admission, and complete weekly vital signs as directed by nursing staff.
Maintain patient charts, including signing releases, preparing documentation for appointments, and verifying completed documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Assist with lab draws, collecting UA samples, collecting breath alcohol levels, and charting results.
Administer drug screen protocol to patients under supervision of a provider, midlevel provider, or nurse.

Quality Improvement and Customer Service:

Assure that information is collected, organized, reported, and used to improve the quality of systems and services.
Obtain feedback from patients regarding their perceptions of the service provided and utilize this information to improve service delivery.
Recognize and report areas within scope of responsibility that fall outside quality parameters.
Perform self-quality monitoring to develop and execute plans to meet established goals.

Education and Skills:

High school diploma or GED and some experience in a medical clinic setting, or any combination of experience and training that provides equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Medical Assistant certification preferred, along with current CPR and First Aid certification, a good driving record, and insurability.
Strong listening and speaking skills, legible penmanship, and interpersonal communication skills in working with the public, doctors, and various other departments.
Empathy and ability to establish a therapeutic relationship with all types of patients, as well as computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Work Environment:

Work is indoors in an office environment with moderate noise, requiring intermittent physical effort involving lifting of up to 25 pounds, walking, and stooping.
A typical workday involves sitting, frequent use of a keyboard, reaching with hands and arms, and talking and hearing, approximately 70% of the time, with approximately 30% or less of the time spent standing.
Normal vision abilities are required, including close vision and ability to adjust focus.
