Education & Experience
- Master's Degree in Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
- Preferred minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification
- Current Texas registered nurse license.
- Certification as a Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Certification is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and coordinating the provision of high-quality and safe patient care in both inpatient and outpatient environments.
- Collaborate with physicians adhering to approved guidelines and protocols, following established clinical protocols and practice guidelines.
- Engage in both independent and collaborative relationships with medical staff, facilitating consultation, collaboration, or referral as necessary.
- Maintain accurate, legible, and confidential medical records, documenting all evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatments, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations in accordance with NCQA and state regulatory standards.
- Conduct hospital rounds as required by the physician.
- Complete daily assignments and documentation within the designated time frame.
- Provide leadership, direction, and support to nursing staff.
- Interpret and monitor established clinical and administrative policies, procedures, and standards.
- Exhibit effective time management, conflict resolution, and delegation skills.
- Act as a liaison among staff, physicians, and patients to facilitate problem resolution.
- Coordinate and communicate patient care activities with healthcare team members and relevant departments, including admissions, discharges, triage, physician orders, and rounds.
- Demonstrate clear and professional communication with all contacts, fostering mutual respect and concern.
- Encourage a positive and proactive atmosphere among colleagues and patients.
- Serve as a clinical resource and role model for other healthcare team members.
- Maintain professional communication and behavior with patients, colleagues, physicians, and vendors.
- Uphold HIPAA confidentiality at all times.
