Overview:
The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for conducting medical imaging examinations utilizing X-rays and other diagnostic imaging modalities to capture images of targeted anatomical areas. These images are subsequently analyzed by healthcare professionals for the purpose of diagnosing and monitoring medical conditions. Operating under the guidance of supervising physicians, this role involves preparing patients for imaging procedures, positioning them accurately, operating imaging equipment, and applying expertise to minimize radiation exposure to patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adheres to physician directives regarding the specific body areas requiring imaging.
  • Engages with patients throughout the imaging process, addressing their concerns to alleviate anxiety and enhance their comprehension of the procedure.
  • Ensures proper patient positioning and calibrates imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Employs safety measures to prevent unnecessary radiation exposure to both patients and themselves.
  • Follows established protocols and techniques, including patient shielding, to maintain the integrity and reliability of diagnostic imaging services.
  • Completes all necessary documentation for each imaging procedure to uphold accurate patient records and support effective communication among healthcare teams.
  • Performs additional tasks as required.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION: Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; Completion of a Radiology, Imaging, or related educational program.

EXPERIENCE:

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: Required: ARRT (R) | Radiologic Technologist - DxBLS (CPR) - American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare certification.
