Position OverviewThe position subfield is open, with a preference for candidates whose scholarship or artistic practice involves the critique or creation of digital or computational technologies from an interdisciplinary perspective that embraces the bidirectionality of DCS.
Responsibilities- Teach two courses per semester, including introductory computational methods, statistical methods, text analysis, network analysis, spatial analysis, societal impact of AI, digital media, art and technology, social media, and an advanced course in the candidate's area of specialization.
- Develop and maintain a strong research agenda, with a focus on digital and computational studies.
- Contribute to the development of the Program of Digital and Computational Studies, including curriculum design and implementation.
- Engage in service to the College, including departmental and institutional committees.
- PhD in a relevant field, expected by date of appointment.
- Strong commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education.
- Promise of long-term successful research and/or creative work.
