Position Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is responsible for performing maintenance tasks and ensuring the functionality of equipment within senior living environments. This role involves diagnosing and repairing issues related to plumbing, painting, drywall, HVAC systems, and electrical components. The position may involve high-pressure situations and requires a commitment to performance excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair maintenance issues in senior housing, including plumbing, painting, and drywall.
  • Replace and reassemble faulty equipment parts, including air conditioning units, utilizing hand and power tools.
  • Conduct routine maintenance to guarantee efficient operation of building systems and preserve the physical integrity of facilities.
  • Install, assemble, and repair electrical wiring, plumbing systems, machinery, and equipment.
  • Engage in both major and minor construction tasks as required.
  • Report any identified issues to the Executive Director.
  • Operate company vehicles for work-related tasks, adhering to established safety protocols.
  • Ensure company vehicles are maintained in safe working order.
  • Provide recommendations for necessary renovations and repairs to facilities and equipment.
  • May utilize personal or agency vehicles for business purposes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education).
  • Demonstrated history of exceptional customer service and teamwork.
  • Physical capability to stoop, bend, climb, and reach.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. for 20% of the work shift.

Regulatory Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and FBI National Criminal Records History Report (cost covered by employer).
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening (includes marijuana, regardless of recreational use laws) (cost covered by employer).
  • Complete TB screening (cost covered by employer).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of post-secondary education in a related field.
  • Experience with HVAC systems, electrical work (outlets and fuses), and flooring.
  • Familiarity with tag and lockout procedures.
  • Background in carpentry, construction, or electrical maintenance.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, both verbal and written.
