Job Title: Area Director of Operations

Highgate Hotels is seeking an experienced Area Director of Operations to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for driving hotel profitability through revenue generation, cost control, and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Tour operating departments daily to ensure optimal performance and make adjustments as needed.
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings and training sessions to develop employees and promote a positive team-oriented environment.
  • Meet financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion.
  • Hold monthly financial reviews with department managers and ensure budgeted productivity levels are maintained.
  • Develop managers for future advancement through competency training and corporate sponsored training programs.
  • Participate in required M.O.D. coverage and maintain direct contact with management trainees.
  • Ensure compliance with Highgate Hotel policies and procedures and train new managers to ensure compliance.
  • Oversee and assist in the Highgate Hotel budget process as required.
  • Ensure training in service standards is taking place in each department and maintain a clean and well-maintained physical property.
Requirements:
  • At least 6 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field.
  • Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and written with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
