Safety Officer

Position Summary:
The individual in this role is tasked with ensuring the safety of staff, patients, and visitors while identifying potential hazards or unsafe conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Safeguards the facility and its occupants by conducting regular patrols, monitoring surveillance systems, and inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points to control entry.
- Mitigates losses and damages by promptly reporting any irregularities.
- Informs individuals of policies and procedures, effectively managing trespassers.
- Upholds the organization’s integrity and compliance with legal standards.
- Activates security systems and lighting within the facility, unlocking necessary doors for staff access and securing the premises at the end of operations.
- Implements evacuation protocols as directed by management.
- Adheres to the schedule established during departmental meetings.
- Participates in departmental and all-staff meetings, ensuring compliance with the organization's mission and relevant regulations.
- Maintains consistent attendance as required.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Familiarity with public safety regulations and security protocols.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Capability to comprehend and follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to interact tactfully with patients, families, visitors, and public officials.
- Respectful approach towards patients, including those with cognitive impairments.
Work Schedule (Rotating):
Monday-Friday 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
Mon, Tues, Thurs 10:45 AM - 9:15 PM & Fri 1:30 PM - 12:00 AM
Tues-Fri 12:45 PM - 9:15 PM & Saturday 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- One to two years of experience in security roles.
- Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings.
- Flexibility to operate at multiple locations.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred but not mandatory.
Licensure/Certification:
- Valid driver's license from Connecticut.
- Active security guard certification issued by the State of Connecticut.
