Health and Safety Consultant Job Description

Elevate your career in health and safety with ERM, the largest global pure play sustainability consultancy. We're seeking a skilled Health and Safety Consultant to join our team in the Hartford office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative industrial hygiene risk assessments for hazardous materials and operations.
  • Develop and implement innovative health and safety programs and strategies in areas like chemical safety, machine guarding, electrical safety, and more.
  • Support the development of IH sampling plans and conduct IH surveys, interpreting technical data to inform decision-making.
  • Prepare technical reports and deliverables that meet client expectations.
  • Perform health and safety inspections and assessments, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with project teams to achieve client goals, scope, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Develop a working understanding of ERM's consulting service areas and support cross-selling opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in safety, occupational health, engineering, or a related science field.
  • 2+ years of experience in regulatory compliance and sustainable EHS compliance programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in gathering and analyzing safety-related data.
  • Background in High Tech, Power, Pharmaceutical, or chemical sector environments.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality deliverables in fast-paced, innovative customer environments.
  • Current or planned Certified Industrial Hygiene (CIH) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
  • Driver's license and good driving record.
  • Ability to travel and work at client sites across North America.

ERM offers a competitive salary range of $76,000 – $86,749 USD, with opportunities for performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.
