This is a unique opportunity to join the VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION team as a Psychiatrist. As a key member of our Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our team at the Fairfield/Mare Island VA Outpatient Clinics. As a Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for conducting medical history reviews, physical exams, and mental status exams, as well as developing treatment plans and ordering labs and radiological assessments for a wide range of mental disorders.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct medical history reviews, physical exams, and mental status exams
  • Develop treatment plans and order labs and radiological assessments
  • Provide medication management and facilitate medication support groups
  • Evaluate and provide medical clearance for patients presenting to the clinic who may need psychiatric hospitalization
  • Assess and intervene for patients presenting in crisis
Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship or non-citizen eligibility
  • Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from an accredited institution
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
  • Completion of residency training in psychiatry or equivalent experience
  • Board certification or eligibility in psychiatry
