Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our Behavioral Health team at the VA Northern California Health Care System. As a Psychiatrist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and develop treatment plans for patients with a wide range of mental health conditions.
  • Prescribe and manage medications to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support to patients and their families.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and develop treatment plans.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in psychiatry to ensure high-quality patient care.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of a psychiatry residency program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
  • Board certification or eligibility in psychiatry.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
