Position Overview
Loudoun County Parks, Recreation & Community Services (PRCS) is committed to enhancing community connections through exceptional services and facilities. We are seeking qualified candidates for the role of Equipment Mechanic Supervisor. This position is essential for performing advanced mechanical maintenance, inspections, and repairs on various gas or diesel engines, as well as departmental machinery such as gators, snow blowers, and excavators. Additionally, this role includes supervising the equipment shop and managing assigned mechanics and seasonal staff. The supervisor will also be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures related to equipment management.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute complex preventive maintenance and repairs on powered equipment.
- Coordinate warranty services with external contractors as necessary.
- Oversee and lead the equipment shop personnel.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, ideally with specialized training in equipment repair or diagnostics, along with four years of relevant experience, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
Additional Requirements
Successful candidates must pass pre-employment checks, including criminal, credit, and DMV background checks. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required. Candidates must obtain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with necessary endorsements within six months of hire. Additionally, First Aid and CPR certifications must be completed within the first month of employment, along with forklift training as required.
