Position Overview:


The Fence Equipment Technician is responsible for a range of duties related to fence operations and preventive maintenance tasks to ensure that equipment and the yard/facility remain in optimal condition.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Inspect, repair, and store fencing materials and related company assets.

2. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the maintenance and repair area.

3. Communicate with Supervisor/Manager regarding materials utilized throughout the day.

4. Report any equipment issues encountered during the day to the supervisor.

5. Ensure that inventory is thoroughly checked and repaired prior to delivery and upon return.

6. Perform general facility upkeep and minor repairs as necessary.

7. Operate a forklift for loading and unloading assets (such as fence panels and bike racks).

8. Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle as required.

9. Adhere to United Site Services safety protocols: utilize protective gear, report safety hazards and incidents to supervisors.

10. Undertake special projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
1. Proficient in reading and interpreting documents such as safety guidelines, operational and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.

2. Capable of effectively presenting information in one-on-one interactions with customers, clients, and colleagues.

3. Competent in performing basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).

4. Able to execute these operations using units of American currency, measurement, weight, and distance.

5. Skilled in identifying problems, gathering data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.

6. Capable of addressing issues involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

7. Possession of a valid Driver's License (Class CDL A or B with endorsement or Class C, D, or E depending on state regulations).

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the associate is regularly required to use hands for handling, talking, or hearing.

Must be able to sit, stand, and walk, sometimes over long distances.

Ability to reach with hands and arms.

Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Capable of lifting and/or moving between 50 and 150 pounds multiple times.

Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to focus.


While performing the duties of this position, the associate is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions (including extreme heat or cold), moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles.

Salary Range:
$15.50 – $25.50 / hour

At United Site Services, our salary ranges reflect the minimum and maximum base pay for the posted position applicable to all locations across the US.

Within the posted salary range, individual pay is determined by geographic location, job-related skills, experience, education, and certifications. Our total compensation package includes base pay plus a comprehensive benefits program.
