Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Accountant to join our team at Cargotec. As a Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for providing tax accounting services, ensuring compliance with internal control procedures and tax accounting policies, and providing cross-training and back-up support for roles in the area of US RTR.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tax accounting services, including indirect tax accounting/returns, personal property tax, fixed assets, coordination of month-end system balancing/closing, audits, 1099 filing, environmental reporting, and census reporting.
  • Support roles in the area of local Country Finance and Controllership.
  • Administer and update/maintain data within Vertex and Sage.
  • Participate in process improvement projects to ensure appropriate tax assessment.
  • Participate/lead cross-trainings of business staff related to US indirect tax.
  • Handle ad-hoc/audit requests in a timely manner.
  • Follow internal control procedures and all accounting policies in accordance with CAS and internal control framework.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in US sales/use tax, asset management, finance operations.
  • Experience with simple to complex query handling.
  • Good MS-office skills, ERP knowledge, Vertex, Sage.
  • US indirect tax/asset management knowledge.
  • Strong team player.
  • Problem-solving attitude.
  • Demonstrate analytical skills.
  • Good interpersonal & communication skills.
  • Taking initiative in a proactive manner to improve own and team work practices.
  • Proficiency in written and oral English.
