Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at Duke Raleigh Hospital, a campus of Duke University Hospital. As a Registered Nurse in our Hematology/Oncology department, you will play a critical role in providing compassionate care to patients with cancer and blood disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and provide professional nursing care for patients in accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein
- Assist other nursing personnel in the delivery of nursing care and act as a team leader or charge nurse for a group of patients or an entire unit
- Provide direction and guidance in the proper use, care and control of equipment and supplies
- Observe activities of nursing staff and make recommendations to nursing management for improvement in the quality and effectiveness of nursing care given
- Graduation from an accredited Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher), Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program is required
- All registered nurses without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) will be required to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date and to complete the program within five years of their start date
- Nurses hired at Duke Health with a valid compact license are required to obtain their North Carolina nursing license within 90 days of their start date
- BLS required
- Oncology experience preferred
- Twelve months of appropriate clinical experience is required
