  • Oversee operations in primary and secondary machining processes, including chemical treatment for cleaning and plating of production components, as well as material handling.

  • Understand and apply production planning principles effectively.
  • Drive positive transformations in departmental operations through continuous improvement methodologies, teamwork, and performance metrics focused on quality, cost, delivery, safety, and cleanliness.
  • Execute managerial duties in alignment with organizational policies and legal regulations.
  • Plan, delegate, and supervise work assignments, evaluate employee performance, provide recognition and corrective actions, address grievances, and resolve issues.
  • Utilize available resources efficiently to meet production deadlines and uphold quality standards.
  • Manage and schedule personnel and activities within designated areas of responsibility.
  • Implement and track productivity enhancements, including cycle time reductions and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and resolve any safety-related concerns promptly.
  • Commit to working additional hours as necessary to fulfill tasks and meet production requirements.
  • Initiate and follow through on actions aimed at improving production techniques, equipment efficiency, and product quality.
  • Coordinate workforce needs to adapt to changing operational conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with procedures related to shop orders, internal inspections, operator evaluations, nonconformance issues, and material disposition.
  • Verify that operational methods and ISO procedures are current, adhered to, and that effective training programs are documented and maintained.
  • Exhibit strong leadership by setting a positive example for the team.
  • Ensure that preventative maintenance is consistently performed and documented according to established methods.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor team members.

Qualifications

Knowledge Required:

  • Production planning principles.
  • Machining setups, material handling, chemical processing (including plating), ISO standards, machine maintenance, and safety programs.
  • Familiarity with Acme screw machines is preferred; CNC machining expertise is essential.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Communicate effectively with machinists and plant management.
  • Interpret and understand blueprints.
  • Measure and gauge components using standard industry tools such as micrometers and gages.
  • Read and comprehend safety regulations and procedural manuals.
  • Compose routine reports and correspondence.
  • Elevate machining operations to a world-class standard.
  • Present information effectively to groups of employees.
  • Perform basic mathematical calculations in various units of measure.
  • Calculate percentages and interpret graphical data.
  • Apply common sense to execute instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
  • Generate production-related reports.
  • Possess intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel; proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of ADP is advantageous.

Experience and Training:

  • A minimum of ten years of experience in manufacturing operations, including machining, industrial assembly, chemical processing, and material handling.
  • At least five years of experience in implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Exhibit a high level of personal integrity.

Education:

  • Associate degree in Sciences, Engineering, Business Administration, or relevant industry experience.
