The Ultrasound Technologist plays a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients. Under the direction of the supervising Radiologist, this position performs ultrasonic procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in maintaining a culture within HexaQuEST Health, Inc. consistent with the Service and Behavioral Standards Caregiver document.
  • Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, vascular, and musculoskeletal scans.
  • Capture and save high-quality ultrasound images, ensuring accurate representation of anatomy or pathology.
  • Provide the physician with clinical history relevant to the exam.
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment, performing routine maintenance and quality control checks.
  • Coordinate with front desk personnel to ensure a smooth ultrasound schedule.
  • Compile statistics as required by the Department Manager.
  • Stay current with advances in ultrasound technology and medical knowledge through continuing education and training.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved program in ultrasound technology.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in ultrasound physics, general abdominal, OB/GYN.
  • Current Sonography license issued by the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging.
  • Minimum of one year of experience as an Ultrasound Tech preferred.
  • Other Registries with ARDMS preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to complete BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work compatibly with physicians, patients, and other staff.

Patient care skills, including communication, empathy, and the ability to explain procedures to patients and address their concerns.
