New Story Schools is in search of a dedicated Behavior Consultant to become a vital part of our clinical team. This role is essential in our mission to provide exceptional educational support to students with unique behavioral needs. The Behavior Consultant will play a key role in the treatment team, focusing on the execution of therapeutic skills development and behavior modification strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Evaluate initial and ongoing behavioral strengths and challenges of students in accordance with established school assessment protocols.
  • Employ non-violent crisis intervention methods and provide physical assistance when necessary.
  • Participate actively in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team discussions, and other relevant gatherings.
  • Deliver and oversee services as outlined in the student’s IEP.
  • Create behavior objectives for the IEP and Positive Behavior Support Plan.
  • Modify and supervise the execution of student behavior plans as required.
  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments for students under the guidance of a BCBA, as needed.
  • Establish a data collection system for staff to aid in interventions and modifications.
  • Design and implement tailored behavior plans that cater to the individual needs of students and the dynamics of the educational environment.
  • Analyze FBA and data sheets to formulate individualized behavior intervention plans, utilizing data and insights from all stakeholders involved with the student.
  • Gather and chart behavior data recorded by school personnel for evaluation of the effectiveness of the Positive Behavior Support Plan.
