Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Educational Specialist II to lead our robotics and STEM enrichment programs. The successful candidate will provide system-wide leadership, support school leaders and teachers, and establish partnerships to increase STEM opportunities for students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement robotics and STEM enrichment programs to increase student access to high-quality opportunities.
  • Manage current and future programs, including FLL Jr., FLL, VEX IQ, and VEX robotics programs, ensuring teams complete registration requirements and distribute equipment as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with partners to support robotics and STEM enrichment programs.
  • Develop and manage City Schools' summer STEM programs, including Engineers of the Future.
  • Manage district-owned competition equipment and robotics materials, maintaining an active inventory and arranging transportation to events.
  • Establish and maintain a successful communication process with robotics coaches and STEM enrichment program leads.
  • Plan, manage, and/or support major STEM competitions, including the Baltimore City FLL Scrimmages, FLL Regional Qualifier, and Hopkins Robotics Cup.
  • Provide targeted technical assistance to coaches, teams, and principals to support program success.
  • Support Baltimore City teams at state and national championships.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in Education or a related field, such as engineering.
  • Three years teaching experience in K-12 education, preferably in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • Valid Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) Advanced Professional Certificate.
  • Working knowledge of budget design and accounting procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with central and school staff and/or community partners.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze quantitative data to develop reports.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to make effective presentations to diverse audiences.
  • Interpersonal skills that ensure effective teambuilding and networking with outside organizations.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite; programming experience preferred.
