Core Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Utilizing professional judgment to independently execute engineering designs.
  • Supporting or leading project management efforts, delegating tasks to project engineers and team members, and ensuring project milestones are met.
  • Conducting quality assurance and quality control checks on engineering tasks performed by team members.
  • Making critical design decisions that fulfill client requirements while considering project implications.
  • Identifying and addressing technical, scheduling, or financial challenges in collaboration with project managers and clients.
  • Assisting clients with contractor selection and bidding processes as needed.
  • Overseeing construction activities and supervising field personnel involved in specific projects.
  • Responding to contractor inquiries and managing project documentation as necessary.
  • Preparing change orders and project addenda as required.
  • Contributing to the development of engineering service proposals, including estimating project timelines and costs.
  • Signing and sealing engineering documents as an authorized representative.
  • Communicating technical matters effectively with clients.
  • Acting as a technical authority on assigned projects and managing smaller or specialized projects.

Qualifications
Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related scientific discipline, along with relevant work experience.
  • Professional registration (P.E., L.S.) in applicable states is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of seven years of design and engineering experience, with a proven ability to sign engineering documents.
  • Proficiency in operating technical analysis and computer equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interpret technical literature and engineering plans.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, applicable to both routine and complex engineering tasks.
  • A commitment to professional development and community engagement through participation in industry associations and outreach initiatives.
