Position Summary

The Grounds Maintenance / General Labor role involves executing a diverse range of landscaping tasks, including but not limited to mowing, trimming, irrigation, edging, and pruning. The successful candidate will efficiently manage multiple assigned production units while ensuring that all grounds maintenance contract work is completed promptly and cost-effectively. This position requires a strong commitment to the company's goals and objectives, as well as a professional demeanor that sets a positive example for both clients and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comprehend all specifications and requirements outlined in the Grounds Statement of Work (SOW) Contract, ensuring that quality standards and schedules are consistently met.
  • Perform maintenance tasks across large areas, including string trimming, mowing, hedge and tree pruning (up to 10 feet), hand weeding, and litter removal. Operate various grounds maintenance equipment such as string trimmers, mowers, and leaf blowers.
  • Utilize hand tools effectively, including shovels, rakes, pruners, and pole saws, to maintain ornamental plants and planter beds.
  • Manage inventories of supplies, tools, and equipment, ensuring that services are delivered in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Communicate with the site supervisor or manager regarding the need for tools and supplies, as well as equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Plan and execute work necessary to meet contract obligations, including tasks on weekends or holidays as required.
  • Exhibit the company's core values of teamwork, excellence, and motivation in all interactions.
Equipment Management and Safety
  • Oversee the daily management of supplies, tools, and equipment associated with the contract, implementing proper safeguards and follow-up procedures.
  • Conduct inspections and maintenance of all equipment used, ensuring that tools are secured after each workday.
  • Maintain the assigned vehicle's security and care, promptly reporting any accidents or incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, Federal, State, and company safety guidelines.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions

This position requires regular outdoor work in varying weather conditions and frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts. Candidates must be capable of standing, walking, balancing, and lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs unassisted.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to follow verbal, written, or visual instructions.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Preferred: Relevant work experience.
  • Preferred: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
