Medical Billing Specialist

As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in our client's revenue cycle management by maximizing reimbursement for services provided to patients. You will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing reimbursement processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment from insurance companies and other payers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement principles, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding results.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze healthcare claims and reimbursement data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement
• Review reimbursement policies and guidelines from insurance carriers and government payers to ensure compliance and maximize reimbursement
• Collaborate with billing and coding teams to resolve reimbursement issues and discrepancies, providing guidance and support as needed
• Conduct regular audits of reimbursement processes and documentation to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
• Communicate with insurance companies, payers, and other stakeholders to resolve reimbursement disputes and appeals in a timely manner
• Stay up-to-date on changes in healthcare regulations, coding guidelines, and reimbursement methodologies
• Provide training and support to staff members on reimbursement processes and best practices

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, finance, or a related field preferred
• 3+ years of experience in healthcare reimbursement, revenue cycle management, or a related field
• Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement principles, including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers
• Proficiency in analyzing healthcare claims and reimbursement data, with advanced Excel skills preferred
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders
• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
• Knowledge of healthcare billing and coding processes preferred
