Nurse Shift Supervisor

Job Summary:
The Southcentral Foundation (SCF) is seeking a skilled Nurse Shift Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of a team of nurses in delivering high-quality patient care. As a key member of the healthcare team, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that patients receive timely, effective, and beneficial care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of nurses to achieve excellent patient outcomes and high-quality care.
- Develop and implement effective nursing strategies to improve patient satisfaction and reduce readmissions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of team members, providing constructive feedback and coaching to improve skills and knowledge.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest nursing practices, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and excellence in patient care.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and other relevant certifications as required by the position.
- At least two years of supervisory or management experience in a healthcare setting, or demonstrated proficiency as a nurse at SCF.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Employee Health Requirements:
Compliance with SCF's Employee Health procedure is a condition of employment. The successful candidate will be required to agree to comply with all job-related employee health screening and immunizations prior to their first day of employment.
Native Preference:
SCF pursues a policy of Native preference in hiring, contracting, and training, as required by P.L., as amended.
