Options for Youth is a collective of free public charter schools committed to providing a flexible and personalized educational experience. Since our inception following California's Charter School Law in 1993, we have empowered over 135,000 students to discover their potential and pursue their aspirations. At OFY, we prioritize the individual visions of our students, believing that inspiring them is our greatest motivation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to students with special needs and identified learning challenges within a specialized educational framework, providing support in language and reading skills.
- Administer and evaluate both individual and group assessments.
- Organize and facilitate IEP meetings, coordinating with parents, general education teachers, administrators, and relevant special education personnel.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, psychologists, and other service providers to communicate and coordinate evaluations and testing, while keeping parents informed about their child's progress.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and document advancements towards IEP objectives.
- Support additional academic initiatives within the independent study program.
- Fulfill other duties as needed to enhance the Special Education Specialist program.
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS)
- California Preliminary or Clear Education Specialist Instruction Credential (Mild/Moderate) with English Language Authorization (ELA)
$73,000 - $105,000 Based on Experience
