Job Summary

Barnes Group is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team in a dynamic aerospace environment. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating NC VTL machines to pre-machining and finish machining aircraft parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate NC VTL machines for pre-machining and finish machining of aircraft parts.
  • Work from process traveler, blueprints, parts drawings, manuals, specifications, operations sheets, and verbal directions to determine proper dimensions and tolerances of finished parts, sequence of operations, and set-up requirements for machining functions.
  • Verify dimensions using standard measuring instruments, such as micrometers, depth gage, height gage, and vernier.
  • Collaborate with the engineering department to ensure material conditions, best positioning of parts, tool pressure, and other requirements are met.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-5 years of experience machining in an aerospace environment.
  • Experience in machining plasma coatings and K/E seals on rotating aircraft parts.
  • Strong mathematical skills and knowledge of GD&T.
  • Familiar with Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Willingness to learn basic CNC programming.
Work Environment

This position is a safety-sensitive position. The successful candidate must comply with all applicable FAA and DOT drug and alcohol testing rules.
