A significant segment of our operations supports refrigerated carriers responsible for transporting temperature-sensitive food and materials across North America.

Position Summary:

As a Service Operations Leader, you will be at the forefront of our service initiatives, overseeing a variety of repair tasks. Your responsibilities will include planning, directing, motivating, and managing the Service Department to achieve or surpass sales targets. You will identify training needs for team members and oversee daily operations. Engaging with vendors and service providers will be part of your role, ensuring that established sales, profit, and growth objectives for the Service Department are met or exceeded. You will also focus on acquiring and retaining customers through effective sales and marketing strategies, ensuring our commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to company policies regarding recruitment, training, and disciplinary actions.
  • Comply with governmental regulations and documentation concerning work procedures and safety programs.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with Utility Manufacturing regarding warranty processes and documentation.
  • Ensure timely reimbursement for service work.
  • Participate in Service Manager Meetings and Training Seminars as required.
  • Advise on training needs for both yourself and your team.
  • Make recommendations for tools and equipment expenses.
  • Review company reports to ensure Service Department sales and expenses align with company standards.
  • Communicate quarterly customer work status reports to the Service Operations Manager.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for all service staff using company reports.
  • Maintain communication with the Service Operations Manager regarding market conditions impacting service department profitability.
  • Assist in developing customer appreciation events, including business lunches and trade shows.
  • Foster strong relationships with Insurance Adjusters regarding current and future insurance work.
  • Coordinate with Parts and Sales Departments on special quotes.
  • Stay informed about competitive practices in the industry.
  • Ensure the maintenance and good condition of the shop, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Verify that mechanics' tools are safe and in good working order.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree or 3 years of experience in Management/Service of Heavy Duty Parts Operations within the Semi-Trailer or Truck industry.
  • Supervisory experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with customers, employees, and vendors.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent interpersonal and management abilities.
  • Proven team leadership skills.
  • Outstanding organizational capabilities.
