Animal Services Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Animal Services Officer to join our team at the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, KS. As a key member of our Animal Services department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the welfare of animals in our community.
Key Responsibilities- Capture and impound stray animals, locate owners, and assist with investigations of bite cases and reported animal cruelty complaints.
- Enforce ordinances, provide testimony in court cases, write incident reports, and provide humane care to animals under your supervision.
- Clean and maintain the Animal Services facility, examine and clean animal kennels, and perform other duties associated with the operation of the facility.
- Work weekend and holiday hours, and be subject to call-out duties and flexible shift schedules.
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Degree (G.E.D) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to deal with the public effectively, maintain records, and prepare reports.
- Valid Driver's license required, with a good driving record.
- Ability to work shifts, weekends, and flexible schedules.
$21.23/hour salary, with opportunities for career growth and development in a dynamic and supportive work environment.
