Position Overview

The Logistics Operations Specialist is tasked with the organization and management of materials, including the assembly and preparation of equipment for substations and transmission projects. This role involves the operation and upkeep of specialized handling machinery, such as cranes and telehandlers. The specialist collaborates closely with clients in the fabrication of Conex units, ensuring that all necessary equipment is prepared and delivered efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, and transport materials within or adjacent to the work site.
  • Transfer materials from storage locations to designated areas as per sales documentation.
  • Assist clients with any shipping discrepancies and defective items related to job orders.
  • Continuously enhance personal technical knowledge of general and specialized merchandise to support clients and colleagues.
  • Package items for shipment via various carriers, including flatbeds and internal transport.
  • Label materials accurately and ensure proper documentation is attached.
  • Construct and install racks and shelving as necessary.
  • Address customer issues directly, focusing on fabrication and site preparation challenges.
  • Operate material handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, to manage stock and optimize storage.
  • May act as a backup driver to deliver items as required.
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions with clients.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of all work areas.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid CDL-A License.
  • Understanding of safety protocols.
  • Proficient in using computer software and ERP systems.
  • Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks.
  • Experience with material handling equipment.
  • Skilled in operating large vehicles in confined spaces.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Customer-oriented and collaborative mindset.
  • Frequent standing required.
  • Occasional lifting/moving of items up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision capabilities needed for this role include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two to three years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
