Position Overview: This role involves supporting the leadership of various teams including transportation, salvage, and general warehouse operations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the smooth operation of donated materials from the point of receipt to distribution and storage.
  • Supervise and train Box Truck and CDL drivers, as well as transportation and salvage staff.
  • Maintain operational efficiency by overseeing the upkeep of vehicles, forklifts, and other essential equipment.
  • Foster strong working relationships with management and support the Transportation Operations Manager and Warehouse Supervisor.

Essential Duties:

  • Exhibit excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Oversee quality control of donations for retail distribution, including the inspection and verification of materials.
  • Identify secondary market merchandise and prepare it for sale or shipment.
  • Ensure that all operational areas are maintained in a safe and organized manner.
  • Monitor the flow of donated materials and manage warehouse storage effectively.
  • Train and supervise staff in safety protocols, customer service, and operational procedures.
  • Conduct daily inspections and preventive maintenance of equipment.
  • Accurately process necessary documentation related to operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and organizational procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Mathematical skills for operational calculations.
  • Forklift certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to operate various warehouse equipment safely.
  • Strong communication skills, with bilingual abilities being a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, with supervisory experience preferred.

Physical Requirements: The role requires standing and walking on concrete surfaces, lifting and moving items up to 50 lbs, and occasionally up to 75 lbs. The work environment may include exposure to moderate to loud noise levels and various weather conditions.
