Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ambulatory Services Representative to join our team at Children's Health. As a key member of our outpatient scheduling team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring accurate and efficient scheduling processes, and maintaining high-quality patient data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and process appointment requests, ensuring accurate and timely scheduling
  • Identify and create new Medical Record Numbers (MRNs) as needed
  • Obtain and verify patient demographic and insurance information
  • Determine insurance coverage and eligibility, and provide financial counseling as necessary
  • Triage and prioritize patient referrals using standard operating procedures
  • Manage work queues in Epic and review hospital services and Account Record (HAR) accuracy
  • Register donors and research participants, and review Daily Account Record (DAR) for Medicaid mismatches
  • Obtain authorizations for admissions and liaise with access center
  • Facilitate diagnostic and ancillary scheduling, and review existing pre-visit orders
  • Check patients in and out, make follow-up appointments, and prepare patient packets and schedules
  • Apply charges in the system, complete daily provider utilization grid, and warm call reminders
  • Collect co-pay amounts from patient guardians, order supplies, and link and/or release patient orders
  • Complete and process consent forms, and provide phone management support
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of customer service or outpatient-related scheduling experience
  • At least 1 year of job-related experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred
