Position Overview

Link Solutions is currently in search of a VMware Systems Administrator (Intermediate-Level) to become a part of our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) in safeguarding the Global Network Enterprise to ensure information superiority.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and troubleshoot system performance within the VMware environment.
  • Deliver Tier 1 and Tier 2 support to hosted tenants.
  • Design, plan, implement, and manage enterprise blade server and storage technologies to support the virtualization infrastructure.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff members.
  • Install, configure, and integrate servers within a VMware virtual infrastructure.
  • Conduct backups, troubleshooting, and problem resolution for VMware-associated servers.
  • Construct highly available server clusters in a vSphere environment.
  • Develop and configure virtual networks.
  • Assist in coordinating and implementing hardware maintenance, upgrades, repairs, or replacements related to the virtualization infrastructure.
  • Offer advice and training to end-users.
  • Administer enterprise VMware-based virtualization infrastructures, including vCenter ESXi environments version 6.0 and later.

  • Swing shift
  • Sunday - Wednesday
  • 2:00 PM - 12:30 AM
Qualifications:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • DoD Secret Clearance is required.
  • IAT Level II Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security Training, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC) or equivalent.
  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or two (2+) years in a desktop support role with a solid understanding of computer science principles.
  • Current Computing Environment (CE) certification (to be obtained within 90 days of start date).
  • Experience with Cisco FlexPod, VMware, or similar virtualization technologies, and Network Attached Storage systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with creating a PPS (Ports, Protocols, & Services) request.
  • Experience with network installations and upgrades.
  • Adept problem solver and troubleshooter who excels in resolving complex issues.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) and interpersonal abilities.
  • Organizational skills, attention to detail, and capability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Security Clearance:
  • Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • DOD Security Clearance is required (minimum Secret-Level).
  • A DOD Interim Security Clearance (minimum Secret-Level) is acceptable until full DOD Security Clearance is granted.
