Job Summary

SOSi is seeking a highly skilled Senior Virtualization and Storage Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of our VMware virtualized environments on diverse hardware platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and Maintain Virtualized Environments: Ensure the smooth operation of our VMware virtualized environments, including troubleshooting complex issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Remote Teams: Work closely with remote customers and technical support vendors to resolve complicated hardware and software issues.
  • Utilize Diagnostic Tools: Leverage diagnostic tools to trace and resolve technical problems, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
  • Manage ITSM Tickets: Utilize Remedy ITSM to track and resolve problems impacting continued system operations, making recommendations for corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop and Document Procedures: Create and document potential courses of action for resolving complicated hardware and software virtualization problems, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer and process improvement.
  • Lead IT Projects: Provide overall direction and guidance to assigned project managers, reviewing systems development, project requests, and coordinating schedules and related departmental activity.
  • Evaluate and Improve Processes: Review and evaluate the work of subordinate staff, preparing performance reports and activity and progress reports regarding all systems analysis and programming sections.

Requirements

  • Active SECRET Clearance: Possess an active in-scope SECRET clearance or the ability to obtain Interim SECRET eligibility.
  • IT Certifications: Hold IAT II certification (CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP) and Certified Professional (VCP-DCV), Veritas NetBackup 10.x and NetBackup Appliance 5.x Administrator, Dell Unity Operate - Proven Professional, or Cohesity Certified Data Security Professional.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent team skills, thoroughness, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Availability and Flexibility: Be willing to provide on-call support after business hours and during weekends when required, work overtime, holidays, and weekends as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ITIL Certification: Possess ITIL certification.
  • VMware vSAN Experience: Have experience managing and deploying VMware vSAN environments.
  • Backup Solutions Experience: Have experience with backup solutions from Veritas and Cohesity.
  • DoD Network Experience: Have experience operating in DoD networks and environments.
  • STIGs Experience: Have experience reviewing and applying DISA STIGs.
  • Networking Experience: Have experience with networking and networking protocols.
  • Storage Protocols Experience: Have experience deploying and managing different storage protocols, such as Fibre Channel, FCoE, and iSCSI.

Work Environment

  • Office Environment: Work in a normal office environment with fast-paced, deadline-oriented conditions.
  • Non-Traditional Hours: May require periods of non-traditional working hours, including consecutive nights or weekends.
