Orthopedic Care Assistant

Job Summary
At Summit Orthopedics, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will provide direct patient care and support to our patients and families.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct hands-on care and perform delegated nursing care tasks as set forth by the Board of Nursing in administrative rules.
- Work collaboratively with perioperative, pre- and post-op nursing staff, Clerical staff, and Material Management to ensure seamless patient care.
- Assist in the safe transfer of patients from cart to chair, from chair to wheelchair, and to awaiting transportation.
- Restock, label, and maintain inventory; submit requisitions; collect and distribute instruments, trays, crash carts, and facility medical equipment.
- Perform environmental maintenance duties and assist in maintaining inventory levels throughout the Center.
- Respond to requests for assistance from professional staff to the level of competence attained.
- Verify that equipment functions properly and requisition for repair or replacement of surgical instrumentation.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and dispose of filled suction and trash containers.
- Document maintenance activities when required to do so.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous Nursing Assistant experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support certification required.
