Senior Director, Head of Operations

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Director to lead our Operations and Engineering team at Takeda Pharmaceutical. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for directing technical teams to ensure company, site, and departmental goals are met within budgetary and schedule guidelines.
The successful candidate will provide general direction to technical staff, leveraging their technical expertise to drive operational excellence. They will use their understanding of automation, MES, and various engineering disciplines to manage an operational support function in compliance with all safety and quality regulations and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement new processes to support site manufacturing operations
- Coordinate, plan, and schedule tasks and activities for supporting site production activities
- Define scope of work for project teams and manage multiple teams simultaneously
- Manage, hire, develop, and recognize technical staff, creating employee and organizational development plans
- Apply specialized knowledge to analyze and solve complex problems through creative thought and experience
- Approve protocols and support documentation, including engineering change requests and system change forms
- Develop staff members to assume technical approver roles and provide SME-level guidance
- Support and initiate Continuous Improvement projects, representing the department during regulatory audits
- Improve employee utilization to drive continuous improvement and support daily quality, EHS, and PSM activities
- Maintain installed building networks and systems, performing daily troubleshooting and monitoring
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or a related technical field
- 8+ years of related experience, with 3+ years in a management role
- Well-versed in engineering disciplines, including automation, enterprise-wide software, MES, fluid flow, thermodynamics, heat transfer, statics, and dynamics
- Knowledge of GMPs, FDA guidelines, purchasing practices, and process validation
- Fluent in MS Office, MS Project, and MS Visio software
- Strong understanding of automation, information technology, and computer system administration good practices, industry standards, and regulations
- Ability to design outside of immediate scope of responsibility and manage multiple teams simultaneously
