About the Role

This is a 36-hour per week position that requires excellent clinical and administrative skills. You will be responsible for providing clinical and administrative support to clinicians and other healthcare team members, ensuring efficient patient flow and contributing to the overall success of our primary care team.

Key Responsibilities

The Primary Care Medical Professional - Clinical Support Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Preparing patients for office visits, including collecting and documenting pertinent data, and ensuring that all necessary tests and information are ready for review by the clinician.
  • Utilizing standardized tools to identify and address health maintenance and care gaps with patients, and alerting clinicians to those that require attention.
  • Providing patient education and instructions, and documenting all pertinent data and outcomes of patient care in the electronic medical record.
  • Performing diagnostic tests, therapies, and procedures within the scope of authorized duties, and maintaining proficiency in these areas.
  • Facilitating and completing follow-up duties on patients' plans of care, including processing prescriptions and forms, and scheduling procedures and tests.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A graduate degree from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Basic Life Support certification within one month of hire.
  • Ability to obtain Kaiser Permanente's Medication Administration Competency Certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated communication (written and oral) skills.
  • Demonstrated literacy in using computers and keyboarding.
  • Skills in problem-solving, setting priorities, and using good judgment for decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have:

  • One to two years of experience in a medical assistant position in a primary care setting.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge and procedural skills in a primary care setting.
  • Current National Medical Assistant Certification.
  • Familiarity with documenting in an electronic medical record system.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Kaiser Permanente offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan and paid time off.
