Dairy Nutrition Research Assistant

This part-time research assistant position with the Dairy Nutrition laboratory in the Department of Animal Science will support laboratory processing and analyses of feed and animal samples, participate in and assist graduate students with research projects with dairy cattle, collect and process data, operate laboratory equipment, manage undergraduate students, manage purchasing and invoices, manage laboratory inventories, reorganize and maintain order in the laboratory, update and reorganize laboratory protocols and files on OneDrive, and perform other tasks related to general laboratory activities and dairy nutrition research.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in laboratory processing and analyses of feed and animal samples
- Participate in and assist graduate students with research projects with dairy cattle
- Collect and process data
- Operate laboratory equipment
- Manage undergraduate students
- Manage purchasing and invoices
- Manage laboratory inventories
- Reorganize and maintain order in the laboratory
- Update and reorganize laboratory protocols and files on OneDrive
Requirements:
- Detail-oriented and motivated individual
- Capable of working independently
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work extended hours and on weekends when necessary
Working Conditions:
- Typically work 24 hours/week Monday-Friday and some weekends
Compensation:
- Starting pay is $25/hour
