We are seeking a highly skilled Academic Advisor to join our team at New York University. The successful candidate will provide academic and registration advisement to a significant cohort of graduate and undergraduate students.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct academic and registration advisement for students, including processing necessary paperwork and reviewing degree progress reports.
- Create and maintain departmental student databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
- Coordinate and attend special programs and events, supporting the admissions process and fostering a positive student experience.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, faculty, and staff, providing exceptional customer service and support.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, with a Master's Degree preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in advising or a related field, with a strong understanding of higher education systems and processes.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of standard office software, including Microsoft Office Suite and Google Apps for Education.
- Experience working in an academic environment, with a strong understanding of student affairs and academic support services.
- Ability to develop and maintain computer databases, with experience using information systems such as PeopleSoft and Starfish.
