We are currently seeking a skilled professional to join our Environmental team at our facility. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in enhancing the site's environmental performance, focusing primarily on air quality initiatives.

This position calls for an individual with a strong background in environmental regulations, permitting processes, and operational leadership aimed at continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, working alongside diverse teams to address environmental challenges and implement enhancements.

EXPECTED DELIVERABLES

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate standards, develop site-specific procedures, and lead self-auditing efforts to promote sustainable practices.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, preparing necessary documentation and reports.
  • Analyze environmental regulations to assess their relevance and formulate strategic responses.
  • Secure all required environmental permits to facilitate the site's growth objectives.
  • Communicate environmental matters effectively with the Environmental team and site leadership.
  • Identify and assess key environmental risks, collaborating with the Environmental team and leadership to create an annual risk management plan.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to translate environmental challenges into actionable solutions.
  • Design and implement environmental training programs.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engage actively in site environmental projects and drive improvements in compliance with air quality regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of permit applications and amendments.
  • Manage the acquisition and renewal of environmental permits from relevant agencies.
  • Monitor compliance metrics and develop systems to enhance performance.
  • Maintain environmental management systems to align with permits and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit required reports regarding emissions and compliance deviations.
  • Oversee regulatory inspections and inquiries, ensuring adherence to company and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure timely completion of air quality regulatory obligations and stay informed on potential regulatory changes.
  • Lead initiatives to prevent environmental incidents and promote a culture of learning and improvement.
  • Foster the development of environmental knowledge among employees and implement efficient processes.
  • Contribute to the annual update of the strategic environmental plan.
  • Cultivate a culture of environmental excellence by engaging employees and contractors in responsible practices.
  • Maintain positive relationships with communities and regulatory agencies through active participation.
  • Participate in environmental audits across various facilities.
  • Support compliance activities across different environmental media as necessary.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • Reports to the Environmental Manager

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical field.
  • At least 3 years of post-graduate experience in air quality compliance within the chemical or petrochemical sectors.
  • Experience in environmental compliance consulting within relevant industries.
  • Familiarity with Texas state and federal operating permits.
